At the Kroc Center we have a goal to accomplish three things known as “The Three I’s” of our vision for our center: Inspiration, Instruction and Involvement.
Inspiration
There is no doubt that the new Salvation Army Ray & Joan Kroc Corps Community Center is a place of inspiration. As the 98,000 square foot facility comes out of the ground and takes shape, it has become a stunning structure. The facility has inspired much talk in Quincy. It will be a state of the art facility with world class venues like the aquatic center, the fitness center, the climbing wall and the worship theater. People are interested in what is going to be happening in the building and when it will be open to the public. While the center has inspired interest in The Salvation Army, it has also inspired the beginnings of an economic redevelopment of west Broadway. Now that construction is nearly complete on the Kroc Center, there are other businesses and organizations investing in the west end of Quincy. We would like to think that The Salvation Army Kroc Center has, by investing in the area, inspired others to do the same.
The Salvation Army has a deep commitment to spiritual development. We want the Kroc Center to be a place where seekers receive inspiration from the Holy Spirit. We the Kroc Center to be a place where people come to express their Christian faith and a place to hear from God and be inspired to become the people who God has called them to be.
Instruction
The Kroc Center is a place for learners of all ages. We desire that those who visit the center will learn new knowledge, develop new skills and discover new insights. There will be a number of classes offered in a variety of areas that will appeal to a broad group of people. Again, because of our deep faith, we want to receive instruction from God’s Word. There are always opportunities for people of all ages to learn. We want the Kroc Center to be a place that provides an atmosphere where instruction can be received.
Involvement
The Kroc Center is a place for you to get involved. There are so many ways to participate here that there will always be some way you’ll find to involve yourself. We want the Kroc Center to be a place where everyone is welcome; it is an inclusive place. Membership is for everyone. This is not a center for only a limited few, but a place which people from every economic, social and cultural background can access and become a part of fantastic programs. The Kroc Center has such a broad appeal, we believe it will be a place fostering community and inclusivity. Please come and get involved in something at the Kroc Center.
