Sturhahn Jewelers Marks 101st Anniversary with Food Pantry Donation

Giving back to the community is a tradition with Sturhahn Jewelers and this year is no exception.  To mark their 101st anniversary, the Sturhahn Family will unload 101 bags of groceries to benefit the Salvation Army Food Pantry at 9:30 Monday morning October 22nd.

“Our business anniversary is the ideal time to say thanks to a community that has been so good to us, says Sarah Stegeman of Sturhahns.  “Because our area food banks are especially low right now, this seemed like the natural, and right, thing to do.”

Last year Sturhahn Jewelers celebrated their landmark 100th Anniversary by giving 100 gifts to 100 unsuspecting people in Quincy over a 10 week period.   “That was fun to make someone’s day who least expected it, Stegeman says. So this year, if we can help put food on a table, we’ll remember how very fortunate we are to live and work in such a great community.”

The Sturhahn family and the 101 bags of groceries will be received by Major Dan Jennings, Senior Officer of the Kroc Center, at 9:30am, October 22nd at the Family Services Center at 6th and Broadway.
