Charles Scholz, Marvin Purdy, & John Hark Receive Distinguished Awards
On Friday, September 20, The Salvation Army recognized two of its most distinguished supporters during the September Advisory Board meeting held in the Meadows Conference Rooms at the Kroc Center.
Mr. Marvin Purdy, retired Quincy Firefighter and longtime Advisory Council member, received a ‘Certificate of Life Membership’ award from Advisory Board Chair, Jo Kirlin and Senior Kroc Officer, Major Andrew S. Miller.
Mr. Charles W. Scholz received a ‘Certificate of Membership Emeritus’ award for his outstanding civil support of The Salvation Army. Mr. Scholz has been involved in many Army functions over the years such as the Christmas Committee , Kroc Steering Committee, and currently, the Advisory Board Council.
Hannibal Salvation Army Advisory Council Chairman John Hark was honored Monday, Sept. 30, by receiving the designation of Salvation Army member emeritus. Hark served 41 years for the City of Hannibal and Marion County, Missouri.
The title of Salvation Army member emeritus is awarded to only about four people each year in the 10-state territory including Hannibal.
