WGEM and County Market are joining forces once again to aid The Salvation Army Food pantry with its annual Fall Harvest food drive.

This year’s Fall Harvest food drive begins on Monday, October 24th. The drive will continue for nearly a month before its conclusion on November 21st.

The public is encouraged to donate non-perishable food items at either County Market location in Quincy, the WGEM studios, or at the Kroc Center, where donation barrels will be placed beginning on October 24th.

A Fall Harvest “Blitz” will also be held outside of the WGEM studios on October 26th and 27th, with donations being accepted throughout the day by WGEM news anchors as well as Salvation Army staff.

The 2015 Fall Harvest saw Keokuk Christian Academy as the year’s WGEM Fall Harvest School Challenge winners, with 83 students from Keokuk Christian Academy collected the most canned goods per student (about 8 items per student on average) for the Salvation Army.  For their efforts, the students got to spend a day at the Kroc Center. They enjoyed playing sports, playing in the game room, pool activities, and a celebratory lunch.

Help us help those in need by participating in this year’s Fall Harvest as we work together to stock the Salvation Army Food Pantry!
