Successful Hannibal Christmas Campaign Concludes

The Hannibal Salvation Army Christmas Campaign Chairs, Joseph and Sharon Welch, have announced the completion of a successful 2016 Christmas Campaign. The Hannibal campaign goal of $100,000 was exceeded with a total raised of $103,412.

The Tree of Lights Christmas Campaign is The Salvation Army’s major fund raising effort each year. Money raised during the campaign helps provide Christmas assistance as well as funding programs and services that assist individuals and families in Hannibal and five surrounding Northeast Missouri counties on a daily basis throughout the entire year.

The need for assistance to the people of the Hannibal area community is a constant, which The Salvation Army takes very seriously, especially during this campaign.

This holiday season the following assistance was given in the Hannibal service area: 600 families received Christmas food baskets and 1,073 children received 2,146 toys from Toy Town. In conjunction with Toys for Tots of Northeast Missouri, almost 5,400 toys were distributed.

The Salvation Army is grateful to the 366 volunteers from the Hannibal area, who donated 793 hours of volunteer service to help make all of this possible.

The Salvation Army appreciates the many individuals, groups, organizations, and businesses that supported our effort by donating food, toys, time and money to make the 2016 Christmas Campaign a success.
