The Salvation Army offers
a variety of character building programs for youth.
Below is a description of the programs for every age
group.
Corps Cadets (Teen
spiritual development)
The overall
purpose of Corps Cadets is to prepare young people
for a lifelong commitment to spiritual growth and a
personal relationship with Jesus Christ and to find
ways to serve God through The Salvation Army.
This group meets every Sunday at 11:15am.
Kidz Klub
Kidz Klub is an
after school program that meets every Thursday at
4:30 p.m. and includes open gym and recreation and snacks
for the children, followed by a fun time of singing
and an exciting video program. All kids in grades 1-6 have
a great time and are encouraged to bring their
friends!
Sunbeams and
Adventure Corps
Sunbeams and
Adventure Corps are for girls and boys in grades 1-6.
They meet every Thursday following Kidz Klub from
6:00-7:00 p.m. These programs are similar to
Brownies and Cub Scouts, but with a Christian
emphasis. Children earn badges, do activities,
take exciting field trips and perform service
projects for the community.
Girl Guards and
"Just Guys"
Girl Guards and
"Just Guys" is for young people in grades
7-12.
They meet on Wednesday from 6:0-7:00 p.m. The
Girl Guard program is similar to the Girl Scout
program, but with a Christian emphasis. Girls
earn badges, perform community service projects,
make regular visits to nursing homes and learn
leadership skills. "Just Guys" provides recreational programming including
basketball, kickball, flag football and other
organized events. Both of these programs are a
great way to meet new friends and have fun!
SAQT
Salvation
Army Quincy Teens (SAQT) is a
program designed for teens in Jr. & Sr. High who
like to have fun! This group meets on
Wednesday from
5:00pm-6:00pm. A variety of
programs are provided with a spiritual emphasis.
Different fun activities are planned each time they
meet. It's a great place for teens to hang out
with friends during the week!
